Local Group Redevelops a Shopping Center in Jonesboro
JONESBORO,AR- A group of local investors wants to restore the site of a long-gone grocery store in Jonesboro.
The Shops at Parker LLC plans to redevelop the former Cash Savers grocery building on Southwest Drive. Part owner Luke McCartney says the pandemic and snowstorm can’t stop the growth here in Jonesboro.
“We were looking at possible moving to this side of town and this building became available and we decided that this would be a great opportunity to not only take an old building in Jonesboro and make something new out of it but also this is a great location,” Contractor and Owner, Luke McCartney said.
The $5.0 Million project is about 45,000 sq. feet with outparcel drive thru opportunity adjacent to HWY 49.
It will include a Workout Anytime gym and Quintessential Lighting along with several other stores and a restaurant.
“We just want to make sure that somethings here that’s able to grow and develop this portion of town especially with all the new construction and renovation going on in Jonesboro from it growing so much, we just want to get here at this location and make sure there’s lots of good businesses for everybody,” McCartney said.
McCartney says they expect to have the things complete by Summer 2021 with Quintessential Lighting opened as well.
He knows Jonesboro is a strong and can thrive through anything so the pandemic, was not a problem.
“We proved everybody wrong. People talk about “well how is all this commercial real estate going on during the pandemic, how are all these houses being built during the pandemic.” It doesn’t matter, Jonesboro is going to continue to thrive, it’s a great place to live, it’s a great place to do business and it’s a great place to grow,” McCartney said.
