City Youth Ministries give out Christmas gifts and food to 55 families
JONESBORO,AR- Christmas is swiftly approaching, so City Youth Ministries making sure their kids are well taken care of.
City Youth Ministries held a Christmas distribution drive thru style for all their kids in the program. One parent says city youth generous goal is still the same year later
“I’m loving it, they are still working hard to try and still do for the kids,” parent, Kim Greer said.
City youth hands out gifts every year but with a Christmas party like bowling and laser tag.
Due to the pandemic things were different and executive director knew they had to still do something.
“We usually do it up really big but again, being COVID careful it’s just a whole new world and so this year we’re just still able to implement,” Executive Director, Denise Snider said.
With the many grants and donations, they’ve received from the community, and Central Baptist Church the ministry was able to hand out gift’s bags, pizza, and bible books.
“I think it’s a blessing to the community because some kids don’t get to get Christmas presents, so I think City Youth doing a good job in blessing other kids with Christmas presents and stuff,” Student, Javion Nelson said.
Today the ministry helped 55 families and 98 children.
Nelson says when he gets older, he wants to work at City Youth, so he can help other too.
“It makes me feel great and my mom wants me to keep coming here and so when one day when I get older, I’m work here too,” Nelson said.
Executive Director Denise Snider says all the support from the community has been jaw dropping and grateful for everything.
