Annual Jonesboro Christmas Parade Relocates for 2020 "Reverse Parade"
After initially announcing the cancellation of this year's Jonesboro Christmas Parade, the Jonesboro Jaycees have decided the show must go on.
Instead of floats passing by parade goers, this year's 73rd annual Christmas Parade will be unique. On December 3rd, parade attendees will drive by the floats for a "reverse parade" instead.
The floats will be staged throughout the drive through parade route at Christmas at the Park, and they will be on display starting Thursday December 3rd. The floats will remain on display throughout the weekend.
Marching bands throughout the area will also be staged at the concession area during specific times.
"A lot of people come from all over to see the parade, every single year. And so, it is different this year, but with the challenges of that, we recognize that, and so we're not going to charge admission that night. So as far as how it impacts them, they're driving to downtown, so hopefully they'll have that transportation to where they can come to Christmas at the Park and there's no charge to attend." said Adam Sartin, of Christmas at the Park.
