Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library to host yearly meet the author event next week

JONESBORO, Ark- The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library will host a virtual meet the author event next week.

Each year in October, the library hosts "Teen Reads Week", a event that draws over 100 area students to read a book and come to the library and meet the author.

This year, the event is now name "Teen- Tober" and will be held virtually, on zoom.

It will start at 9:45 am on Tuesday and, teens and adults of all ages are welcome to attend.

Teen Services Librarian Jolene Mullet says she chose the book ‘Mondays Not Coming’ to inspire children and teenagers of color.

“So, one of the reasons I’m really excited for this event is I want young children of color to be able to see a young black author who is successful and see somebody that looks just like them. That’s writing and making a career out of it.”

Mullet says you have until Monday night to register, all you have to do is email her at jmullet@libraryinjonesboro.org.

She also ask that participates log into Zoom 10 minutes prior to the event.
