Arkansas Single Parents Scholarship hosts car workshop for recipients

PARAGOULD, Ark- The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund hosts a car maintenance workshop last night for their scholarship recipients.

The non -profit partnered with Auto Zone of Paragould to provide the workshop free of charge.

Attendees learned how to change a tire, replace windshield washer fluid, check tire pressure, oil and more.

Recipients also received an emergency car safety kit.

Attendee Kali McMahon says being a single parent it’s important to know proper car maintenance.

“When you’re on your own or stuck at Walmart and you don’t know why your car won’t start or how you’re going to get home it’s beneficial to kind of have a starting point. Okay, I know it’s not this and kind of go through the process of elimination. Knowing how to fit a flat and check the maintenance of your car.”

The Northeast Arkansas chapter of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund serves seven counties, providing scholarships and support to single parents.
