A-State host First Virtual Career Fair
Arkansas State students and alumni can start making plans by attending the southern alliance virtual career fair. It may not be the ideal thing, but this could be the start some may need.
“This career fair was brought on by one of my colleagues at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He gathered member schools to participate in this career fair,” Tiffany Johnson said.
This is the first virtual and summer career fair A-State will host.
Although it is a virtual networking event, they encourage those to still dress business professional to make a good impression. Some employers include Chick-Fil-a, City Year, the FBI and many more.
Once the person registers, the day of they will available be open between 9 am and 6 pm to meet with the different employers
“So, once an individual registers they can set up chat times with preferred employers. So right
now, there are about 157 employers’ registers for that career fair,” Johnson said.
After being contacted by many students sharing their concerns about looking for an opportunity and wanting to know whose hiring, Johnson believes this platform will be a great way to help.
“This is the best time for them to look in one place. You may not want to dedicate the entire day, but you want to carve out, make a game plan, and look for those opportunities such as internships and full-time jobs,” Johnson said.
