Businesses, homeowners and renters can apply for Individual Assistance
Businesses, homeowners, and renters can now apply for individual assistance from the Small Business Administration. These loans will be able to help those individuals they might be eligible for.
“The Arkansas Division of emergency management is opening a call center which will start taking applications Thursday,” Craighead County Emergency Management, Anthony Coy said.
This is geared towards uninsured losses or things insurance didn’t cover.
They will offer low interest rate but with a high cap.
This requirement is for primary residence, second homes and vacation homes are not eligible for the disaster assistance funds.
“I don’t anticipate any of the assistance making anyone whole again, I don’t know that it ever does that. However, for those that qualify it will be something that takes a little bit of worry off their plate,” Coy said.
If your application is denied for any reason, it will then be sent to the individual assistance program.
Coy, says this has been a long time coming but will be a great help for those in need.
“Our tornado occurring in the middle of a pandemic, when a lot of people who normally would not be out of work are out of work. Any assistance, we look at any assistance that they might be able to qualify for is going to be a help,” Coy said.
Those who qualify for the assistance can apply beginning tomorrow until June 10th.
