Local Bar and Grill Starting to Sell Food, Drinks Raising Money for Service Industry Workers

Some convenience stores have closed their doors due to COVID-19 a new one has just opened up.

Brickhouse has opened a bodega in the venue area of the restaurant.

When one enters, they will be temperature screened and follow social distancing rules with one to two people in the shopping area at a time.

You can purchase food, diapers, candy, water and yes, even toilet paper.

Owner Dan Johnson said he saw the need for something like this downtown, as well as giving back to people suffering from the service industry.

“All the prices, everything we have here is 50% off to the service industry, and all the profits will go an emergency fund to give to the most at-risk service industry individuals who are most at need. It’s our way of giving a slimmer of hope to those who need it.”

The Brickhouse Bodega will be open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
