Lake City’s annual spring fest is fast approaching. And organizers are expecting an even bigger turnout for the event this year.
The 3rd Annual Lake City Spring Fest kicks off Saturday, May 18th at Wayne Biscuits Short Park in Lake City. It will feature a car show, petting zoos, a dunking booth and bands, including Cat Daddy, White Raven and Drive South. There will also be baseball tournaments and a pageant.
Over twenty vendors will be on site, selling barbecue, southern styled food and other eats.
Last year’s spring fest drew in a crowd of over two thousand. Organizers look forward to doubling the attendance this year. Lake City’s mayor, police department and other agencies are behind the big day.
“We get to come together as a community, and we get to show people who’s coming to Lake City,” says Daniel Haynes, who is one of Lake City’s Spring Fest organizers. “Because lake city is growing. We’re in the midst of doing a water park. We have great housing that’s coming here. And we get to show people how loving, kind and friendly our city is.”
The Lake City Spring Fest begins at 8am on May 18th. The event is free and open to the public. More information about it can be found on the Lake City Spring Fest Facebook page.
