Jonesboro Police Respond to Homicide

Afternoon shooting is now classified as a homicide. Detectives are still sorting through evidence, as more information becomes available we let you know.

UPDATE: Jonesboro Police Department have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Markus Gentry of Blythville. There is a warrant out for his arrest.

(Jonesboro AR) On January 1, 2019 at around 1:30 pm officers of the Jonesboro Police Department were called to 1120 W Huntington in reference to a shooting. When the officers arrived they rendered medical aid to the victim. The victim was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was being taken into surgery.

Information at the scene described a black male driving a small silver passenger car leaving the shooting scene.
