Around 9 o’clock on Tuesday, November 27, officers of the Jonesboro Police responded to a residence in the area of Jessup and North Church St in reference to a possible homicide. Once on scene officers found two people dead from gunshot wounds.
The officers, upon entering, the residence found an adult male and an adult female, with gunshot wounds. An infant was located unharmed in the residence and was taken out of the residence and turned over to a family member and then the officer returned to check the adults.
The female Terry Hardcastle 39, of Jonesboro and the male Johnny Cook, 50, of Jonesboro where both pronounced dead at the scene. The two had resided at the address together for a period of time.
Preliminary evidence on scene lead the investigators to believe that this was a murder/suicide. The investigator to believe Cook shot her before turning the weapon on himself.
More information will be available upon completion of the examination by the state crime lab. We will investigate all leads and follow the evidence to bring closure to this case.
