Jonesboro, all Craighead to move up trick or treat

Because of the forecast for potentially dangerous weather on Wednesday, Jonesboro and the rest of Craighead County will observe trick-or-treat activities on Tuesday, Oct. 30, a day ahead of the traditional Halloween.

Jonesboro’s Harold Perrin and mayors of the other towns and cities of Craighead County, as well as the county itself, agreed Monday that the National Weather Service forecast for Wednesday afternoon and evening could be treacherous for trick-or-treaters.

“I think this is the best interest of our children and community at large,” Mayor Harold Perrin said. “I realize this will be an inconvenience for some, but in the big picture, it’s the safer and smarter choice.”
