Trumann Adds Community Garden to Food Pantry

Just like their new crops, the Trumann Food Pantry is growing.

The pantry is in the midst of their first year with their new community garden.

The city of Trumann has given them a piece of land on Douglas Street where they are allowed to grow their garden.

This year they have grown potatoes, onions, corn, pepper, okra, and working on adding tomatoes.

Volunteers get to pick the fresh crops to give away at the food pantry on Tuesdays and Fridays.

People can swing by and grown their own crops in the tilled areas or help out and pull some weeds.
