Central Baptist Church Expands in Jonesboro and Paragould
Central Baptist Church is what members call a congregation on the climb, with 7000 members and counting.
Construction is underway at its location on Harrisburg road in Jonesboro to add a thirty thousand square foot wing that’ll feature new offices, and education space.
“Having education space on campus is going to enable us to get people connected and plugged in. Where they can do life with people, get to know people’s names. Pray for one another. Know the needs that are going on, so they can minister to one another. So it really helps us strengthen that connect,” said Justin Arbuckle, Central Baptist’s Executive Pastor of Discipleship.
That connectivity spans to Central Baptist’s new Paragould campus. Blake Ligon is the teaching pastor and says the location will meet people right where they are.
“44% of the people in Paragould are unchurched. Meaning they have no affiliation with any church. And so we began to talk to people from Paragould and people from Greene County talked about that great need.” “We want to be a blessing, not only to the city, and county. But other churches in the area,” said Ligon.
Those that visit Central Baptist at Harrisburg Road will experience the new add-ons in summer of 2019. At the Paragould campus, pastors are nailing down a location, and design plans for a new church building. Right now, there’s only an office.
Until plans are finalized for Central Baptist’s Paragould church site, members of the congregation will be meeting at Greene County Tech High School, in the fine arts center for service. The facility is said to hold 999 people exactly. The inaugural service will kick off on Sunday August 12th at 11am.
