UPDATE Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit, 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force, ACC SRT Fugitive Task Force and US Marshals were able to locate Mario Stafford and place him under arrest for the outstanding warrant for Terroristic Act with Injury. Stafford was located at a family member's apartment and taken into custody without incident.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mario Stafford for Terroristic Act with Injury, which is a Class Y Felony. Stafford is believed to be armed and may be in hiding after his involvement in the shooting of a vehicle on July 4, 2018. ARREST MADE IN PREVIOUSLY UNREPORTED SHOOTING
Jonesboro Police Department Detectives learn of an unreported shooting that may have led to the shooting of a vehicle while it was being driven in the 1900 block of West Nettleton Ave on July 4, 2018.
During the course of the investigation of the vehicle shooting, Detective Branscum learned that an unreported shooting had occurred that may have led to the shooting that prompted the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of Mario Stafford.
It was learned that a vehicle occupied by juveniles had been shot at by Daquion Box after they had thrown fireworks at a vehicle that was being driven by Box, but is normally driven by another subject. Daquion Box shot at the vehicle with an unknown type of firearm and struck the vehicle. That shooting was not reported to police.
It is believed that Mario Stafford shot Daquion Box's vehicle in retaliation of Daquion shooting at the juveniles that had thrown fireworks at him.
JONESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE SHOOTING
Jonesboro Police Department Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on July 4, 2018 on the 1900 block of West Nettleton Ave in Jonesboro.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., patrol officers responded to a call of a vehicle accident where a vehicle had left the roadway and struck parked vehicles that were located at an apartment building in the 1900 block of West Nettleton Ave. Upon their arrival, they learned that the vehicle that left the roadway had been shot while traveling east bound on Nettleton Ave.
Witnesses at the scene directed responding officers to the driver of the the vehicle that left the roadway and saw that the driver had a minor injury to their arm. The driver received medical attention on the scene and was taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses then described to the officers that another vehicle was following the vehicle that crashed as it traveled east bound on Nettleton Ave. Witnesses told officers that a passenger in the following vehicle was shooting at the lead vehicle and the lead vehicle then left the roadway and struck the parked vehicles.
