Area Roadway Improvements Announced

*The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for improvements to roadways in Craighead County.

The purpose of the first project is to resurface 1.7 miles of selected sections of various city streets in Bay to include: Central Avenue, Brown Road, Hill Drive, and Baker Drive; and 1.8 miles in Lake City to include: Rebel Drive, Fourth Street, and Main Street.

The purpose of the second project is to resurface 4.4 miles of State Highway 349 between State Highway 226 South and State Highway 91 near Jonesboro.

*The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Greene County.

The purpose of this project is to resurface 3.1 miles of State Highway 351 between the Craighead County line and State Highway 358.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Clay County.

The purpose of this project is to resurface 1.6 miles of selected sections of Clay Street in Piggott.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for improvements to roadways in Poinsett County.

The purpose of the first project is to resurface 6.1 miles of State Highway 69 between State Highway 163 and Interstate 555 near Stacy.

The purpose of the second project is to resurface 12.6 miles of Interstate 555 between State Highway 14 at Payneway and the Craighead County line.

The purpose of the final project is to resurface 7 miles of selected sections of State Highways 63, 149, and 308B.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Randolph County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials. The purpose of this project is to resurface 2 miles of selected sections of County Road 25 (Country Club Road) near Pocahontas. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $248,789.62. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Sharp County.

The purpose of this project is to resurface selected sections of County Road 49 at Liberty Hill, County Road 70 at Baker Cemetery, and County Road 59 at Martin Creek.
