Search for Former ASU Officer's Missing Ashes

“I never expected to get the phone call you know that my brother had taken his own life. Now i feel like it’s that day all over again”.

These are the words of Tracy Roberts.

On Sunday, February 18th, Roberts and her parents had a wound reopened when they realized the ashes of their beloved brother and son, Robert Peevey were stolen.

He was an officer for the Arkansas State University Police.

He died back in October 2015.

His sister is now offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the ashes no questions asked and a $2,000 reward for anyone with information that may lead them to finding who did this.

“Our main goal is to get the ashes back. Even if they don’t have them. I mean if we knew what they did with them because it wasn’t just an urn there were other pieces, it wasn’t just ashes in there. If we can get them back, I wouldn't care about any prosecution it can be between me and them”, said Roberts.

Roberts wants to bring the ashes back for her parent’s sake.

The family is simply looking for answers.

“For questions we never had answers to. Now we have questions again that we don’t have answers to. Why would someone, what do they have to gain from taking somebody’s ashes?”.

Currently, there are no leads on who did this and why.

Roberts believes her brother’s vault wasn’t targeted on purpose.

She says he was loved by many.

“He was just a wonderful man. He loved and cared for everybody. Very compassionate. He cared so much about others that he neglected you know his own health and himself”, said Roberts.

If you have any information on where the ashes are or who did this you can send an e-mail to mybrothersashes@gmail.com.
