At a regional meeting on Feb. 10th of the Lions District 7-0 Cabinet in Jonesboro, an area 6th grader received recognition and a prize check for his art poster winning 2nd place in the state-wide annual Lions International Peace Poster contest.  Kendrick Dixon, a student at the Jonesboro Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School, happily holds the prize check which he had just received from District Governor Larry Wilkerson of Jonesboro, while District Peace Poster Chair Charles Hartwig holds the winning poster.  Kendrick’s poster had already taken first place in contests at his school and at the District level.  The 2017-2018 competition attracted over 600,000 entries from 11-13 year old artists from around the world.  [Photo taken by Rich Fischer]
