University to Follow Protocols for Inclement Weather

JONESBORO – With an ice storm warning in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow for Craighead County, Arkansas State University officials are reminding students, faculty and staff about protocol for winter weather events.
A decision regarding tomorrow’s classes is anticipated in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Feb. 7, based upon what type and how much accumulation of precipitation occurs. All are reminded to make sure they have updated their emergency contact phone numbers in the university’s alert system. If you received the monthly test message on this past Friday, your number is current.
In cases where the university opens for classes, but students find their local conditions dangerous to commute to campus, A-State reminds all students and faculty about the Provost’s Inclement Weather Policy. In brief, reach out to your faculty to let them know you feel unsafe traveling to class and faculty are asked to work with students related to material missed.
