Jonesboro Detectives recover stolen property

Detective Bill Brown with the Jonesboro Police Department is investigating multiple thefts which led to the recovery of approximately 40 items. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23rd 2018, patrol officers responded to a call of theft of lawn care equipment from a shed that had just occurred in the 500 block of West Nettleton. Upon their arrival, they were told by the resident that she had just come home and saw that an unknown subject, later identified as 49 year old Shannon L. Herring, was in her yard and his truck was parked in her drive way. Herring left the area but was later contacted by patrol officers at his home after the victim of the theft was able to provide detailed information about him and his vehicle. Officers observed Shannon L. Herring to be in possession of the stolen property. Herring's home was searched and more stolen property was recovered. Det. Brown has recovered approximately 40 various items of lawn equipment and tools and is working to determine who the owners are and link the property to other theft cases. Herring is being held in lieu of a $15,000 temporary bond and his probable cause hearing is pending.
