A-State Faculty Meeting Addresses Student Enrollment Concerns

More than a hundred of Arkansas State University's distinguished faculty gathered for the "State-of-A-State" fall faculty meeting in Reng Student Union this morning. President of the Arkansas University System, Dr. Chuck Welsh and new Arkansas State University Chancellor, Kelly Damphousse deliberated on changes in statewide funding for the university.


Funding for the university will now be dependent on student academic performance, as opposed to traditional means. A concern for the university, as faculty work to increase student enrollment and retention. This year’s freshman class size at Arkansas State University is down 3o% from last year.
