Jonesboro Police Arrest Two on Obscenity Charges
Jonesboro police Friday arrested two suspects in connection with the commission and recording of obscene acts in multiple public locations in Jonesboro.
On Friday, investigators of the Jonesboro Police Department’s Street Crime Unit, the department’s High Tech Crimes Unit and the Trumann Police Department executed a search warrant on the residence of Leslie Sessions, 30, and Derek Calloway, 36, in Trumann, and seized a number of items of potential evidence.
Investigators Thursday obtained bench warrants for the arrest of the suspects. The suspects were taken before District Court Judge Tommy Fowler Friday who found probable causing for charging the two with multiple counts of public display of hard-core sexual conduct, obscene film and promoting an obscene performance.
Street Crimes Unit investigators earlier received information indicating that Sessions was committing sex acts in public places and that Calloway was recording her actions. Officers developed evidence indicating that the conduct alleged occurred inside a Jonesboro restaurant, in the parking lot of a home improvement store, at Craighead Forest Park and at the Arkansas Nature Center.
Officers allege also that the pair promoted the video recordings on various social media sites.
Bond was set at $5,000 each for the suspects’ appearances in Craighead County Circuit Court.
